For all the Chris Brown and Rihanna fans that were waiting to watch their stars perform at the much awaited 2009 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Sunday (February 8); it would be scandalous to know that Chris Brown was arrested on grounds of “criminal threat” in Los Angeles as he allegedly struck a woman inside of his sports car! Hang around…..There is more shockwave to follow!! According to the Los Angeles Time and E! News, the victim is supposedly Chris Brown’s girlfriend and superstar, Rihanna.

Chris and Rihanna, who were hip-hop’s leading couple, were dating for about a year when this unpleasant incident cropped up. It is stated that, Brown used a lethal weapon in the assault. While delay in acknowledging victim’s identity directly was due to Rihanna (whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty), used an alias at a local hospital where she was taken care of for some evident injuries and unconstrained.

Chris Brown, 19 and Rihanna, 18, were both young and extremely successful and thus, have a large fan following. Rihanna’s biggest hit ‘Umbrella’ and Chris’s smash hit ‘Forever’ are much cherished by all. This episode is more of a blow because the couple seemed to be blissful together.

This mishap constrained the duo from attending the 2009 Grammy Awards. They both were also scheduled to perform at the Grammys. Rihanna’s performance roster was swapped by Justin Timberlake and Al Green. Brown was unconfined on $50,000 bail and yet no charges have been filed.

Most of the stars plainly refused to comment on this sensitive issue. Rhymes said, “From my mouth to God’s ears, we have to respect their space. We should say our prayers for them.”

This has been one of the most shocking news of Grammy’s night by far. We hope the matter is just an exaggerated episode as assaulting somebody with a lethal weapon is not just tolerable. As the story is still mounting, we are waiting for it to take a row.
