Wait has finally ended when the 2009 Acadmey Award winners were announced at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday February 22, 2009.
During the event full of stars, Kate Winslet was honored with the Best Lead Actress award for her role in “The Reader” while Penelope Cruz became the first Spanish actress to get an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”.
In the meantime, Sean Penn ended up being an unexpected choice when he gets the Best Male prize over Mickey Rourke ahead of the announcement judging “Slumdog Millionaire” as the Best Picture of the year.
